Co-operative Development Information Center (CODIC) is a National Co-operative Organization (NACO) that was incorporated in Kenya in 1989 under the Co-operative Societies Act. In 1987/88 a study on the development of Co-operative Information Processing Systems (CIPS) was carried out by a team of representatives from the Co-operative movement, comprising of the Ministry of Co-operative Development (MOCD) and the Kenyan to provide formula for Computer systems development, enhancements and sustenance. the computerized information systems were to provide a solution to misinformation through the improved efficiency in day-to-day operations and decision making processes. this led to the birth of CODIC.
